Meet Information

The team buses leave Linden Grove for meets at 3 PM.

Meets start at 4 PM with field events and the first track event.

Meet Event Order

Field Events are usually held before the running events. Because both boys and girls teams are at the same meet but don't compete against each other, the boys are designated as competing first on field events on even years, and the girls go first on odd years. 2018 is an even year so the boys will start with field events.

Field Events

Even Years (2018, 2020):    Girls long jump and shot put first, then high jump
                                         Boys high jump first, then long jump and shot put

Odd Years (2019, 2021):    Boys long jump and shot put first, then high jump
                                        Girls high jump first, then long jump and shot put

Track Events

  1. 3200m Relay (4 x 800m) - Boys and Girls run at same time
  2. 110m Hurdles (Boys) - 33" Hurdles
  3. 100m Hurdles (Girls) - 30" Hurdles
  4. 100m Dash
  5. 800m Relay (4 x 200m)
  6. 1600m Run
  7. 400m Varsity Relay (4 x 100m - 7th or 8th Graders)
  8. 400m 7th Relay (4 x 100m - 7th Graders Only)
  9. 400m Dash
  10. 200m Hurdles (Boys and Girls) - 30" Hurdles
  11. 800m Run
  12. 200m Dash
  13. 1600m Relay (4 x 400m)

Scoring Information

How do you keep score for a whole team for all these events?  Whose team wins? How many athletes in an event score points?  The depth of scoring determines how many athletes score points.  If a meet has a depth of scoring of three, then three places score points.  In a larger meet, the depth of scoring may be six, so then six places score points.  Relay events are slightly different.  Note that in a relay event at a dual meet,only the winning team scores points.  the number of teams competing in a meet usually determines the depth of the scoring.
